Poem - Community relations

Community relations

Its hardly paradise,
when broken
community relations
are the price.

Greed has created
a big hole,
and attempted
to scatter our soul.

Those who have
to know everything,.
unlike compassionate ones
taking you under their wing.

Rural places
try to fill a void,
to make up
for what's been destroyed.

So many
moving around,
and building upon
dangerous ground.

Fear of rivers,
and what hostility
a neighbour
delivers.

Pulling out
the roots like weeds,
and ignoring
our basic human needs.

Nothing seems
to be sacred anymore,
when your afraid
of who lives next door.

Anxious moments
of privacy invaded,
whilst homes
by the Police were raided.

The wailing sound
of the sirens
through the air,
trying to quickly get somewhere.

Cars replacing
the Horse and cart,
society less interested
in revealing it's heart.

Pessimistic
in tone perhaps,
but praying
nobody snaps.

Community relations
are like the soil,
that today
we spoil.

No-one should
be alone,
because we'd all be dying
slowly on our own.
